My thoughts đź’, experience & what I’ve learned …

What have I learned? Other than my passion for the Latino Community has only grown more. My knowledge has also expanded, and I learned that the nations of Latino population is growing each time making Latino’s nearly 18% or more of the population! I also learned that being Latino and born in the U.S. is not that easy, people may not realize this, but some families take this more serious than others. About their children become more Americanized and less involved about their culture or vice versa being Latino and being American all at the same time. I think what I gained from these blog posts are just realizing how hard it is to be Latino. How they’re not always appreciated and how important they are and can be in the U.S and in other places. I feel that I was able to share that part of me that is passionate about these particular community and how I see it and how I feel about it. I feel like for me it’s a very strong subject to talk about and I think its one of the reasons why I want to become an English Teacher.

I picked these two pictures because they represent what I’m trying to say, the first says “We are all the same” and the second one says, “We are not criminals we are workers”. The Latino community has struggled to be seen equally just as others and to show that they are hardworking and not delinquents. What do I get out of this? I get to show my audience, viewers, anyone who’s watching that this community is an important community to me, to people of this background, to the world etc. I’ve enjoyed sharing my experience and how I got to know more of the Latino Community side and how they impacted my life and shape who I am today as a person. I just hope I have an impact on someone one day and they realize how involved and right I feel in this community.

Thank you so much !

đź”® Latino Power đź”®

Members of the Palmer Society, a campus women’s organization, celebrate their graduation from Whittier College in California. The school—Richard Nixon’s alma mater—now ranks among the most diverse colleges in the United States, and the town of Whittier is predominantly Latino and increasingly affluent.

I see the world of Latinos changing America for the better, I see a growth of Latinos in the United States and across it. According to the National Geographic by Hector Tobar “…the United States will become a “minority majority” country by the middle of this century”. It also states that “Most Latino people in Wilder, Idaho will tell you they’ve always gotten along well with their white neighbors. Things haven’t changed much since Trump was elected in 2016, they say. People with roots in Mexico are appreciated here because the farm economy couldn’t exist without them”. Latino people are needed in the United States and in other places like Wilder wether we say so or not, they can do a lot of things people can’t, Latino people are just as hard working as others. As time passes “Latinidad” which loosely translates as “Latino-ness” is expanding.

The United States is becoming like Wilder, the nations of Latino population have and is growing since the 1970s, reaching to about 57.4million in 2016 (nearly 18% of the population). Communities feel “different” from what they did generations ago, “Latinos are the reason” this article says, and I too say. That is how I feel when I am in a group filled with Latinos the vibe it’s just different, its a good vibe. Latino groups account more of the nation’s demographic changes than any other group. You see Latinos are already growing and changing the world around them wherever they go.

I really enjoyed this article because it really helps point out what I’m trying to say about the Latino Community and groups. I’m passionate about these people not because I am one myself but because of their passionate, hardworking, rich culture, selves! We Latino people are going to and already are changing the world for the better. I definitely see myself in the future being a part of this community and even helping this community grow more. This is an area of interest for future generations because Latino groups are one of the many groups future generations will look up to I can guarantee you that! Also we have to make sure these communities receive the same care and support as others, they deserve no less benefits. I hope that people can see that the Latino Community is going to be big one day and I will be apart of this, I hope you guys can be apart if it to!

Is my passion something that is popular else where? đźŚŤđź¤”

Where is the Latino community most popular? Well according to U.S News & World Report By Susan Milligan, Senior Writer tells us that a dozen states saw an increase in Hispanic communities at least 10% of their population. In 2000, there were 10 states that had double-digit percentage Hispanic populations. According to census.gov it shows us how the Hispanic population as spread throughout the country.

I believe the Latino community is popular in other countries, cultures, and places. One because a lot of Latinos are leaving their home countries and migrating to others for many reasons such as better life, greater opportunities, an escape from violence or drugs etc. Another reason is a lot of people like to be born in other countries and raised in their homeland to eventually come back later return to that country they were born in. I think now more than ever the Latino communities are expanding more and more in other countries and it’s sending a message to others it’s showing them that “we do exist, ” and “we want an opportunity and we deserve it”. For some people it plays out as a bad idea especially Trump voters, because they “don’t want criminals entering their country”.

Feb 23rd 2019 “That battle is already lost”

The Latino Community ‘did it differently’ by all standing together and walking from border to border trying to put a message out there to the country. I have not seen any other big statement like the caravans that these Latino people did, I guess what I’m trying to say is that it made them stand out. They were trying to make a difference and trying to show that to others, and Trump. Many said joining the caravan was their only option, due to a lack of opportunities in Honduras. These people knew what they were going for and up against. Secretary of Homeland Security Kristen Nielsen said the U.S. is “closely monitoring” the caravan. “To be clear — participation in a caravan does not grant you a special status or provide you special treatment,” she said. Everyone knew what they were going for, I can say a lot of people including myself can relate to this! because sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith and believe something good is going to come out of the situation you are in.
